What are some reasons that making art is important to you? The
act of creation is stimulating and satisfying. It is an act of
contemplation, a journey of imagination, a mastering of new skills and a
sense of completion.

Do
you work outside the studio in another occupation or have strong
interests in another field, and if so will you describe? I am retired.
I am an historian. I am no longer teaching. I am active, doing a
variety of things, such as oral history, archival work, researching and
writing.
What methods/processes/lifestyle tips do you find helpful to producing work? Two
friends, a poet and a quilter, and I collaborated on Fabrication of a
Life. We decided on prompts, for example: a stitch in time,
filipendulous, getting snippy, spinning out of control. We set
deadlines, met regularly, talked about our work, both joys and
frustrations. When we finished, we reviewed the process of
collaboration, what worked and what didn't and why.

What are some insights regarding time management that might be helpful for others? Do what you can when you can.
Which artists, other individuals or subjects currently inspire you? We
are working on our second collaboration, "A Semblance of Order". We all
are inveterate list makers and started with that. We talked about types
of lists: book lists, wine lists, word lists, litanies, landscape as a
list, lists with a boundary, a "sevens" list and several more. From that
discussion, we decided on "A Semblance of Order" as the name of our
collaboration and will develop prompts as we begin our work.
